Hi, I’m Charles · French teacher since 2014

Let’s get your French out of your head—and into the conversation.

You already understand a lot. I’ll help you stop translating every sentence, react more naturally and feel like yourself when you speak French.

Does this sound familiar?

You know more French than you can use.

Your comprehension keeps improving, but speaking still feels slow, effortful and unpredictable.

You understand more than you can answer.

You follow the meaning, but your reply arrives late—especially in meetings or fast conversations.

You translate before you speak.

You build the idea in English, convert it and check the grammar while the conversation moves on.

You freeze when the conversation becomes spontaneous.

Prepared topics feel manageable; unexpected questions make useful grammar and vocabulary disappear.

You reuse the same safe language.

You keep answers simple even when you want to explain, react or express a more precise idea.

The intermediate plateau

Why more input does not always improve your speaking.

You may already know enough French to say much more. The bottleneck is often retrieving, connecting and adapting what you know under time pressure.

01

Knowledge gives you material.

02

Retrieval practice makes it available.

03

Realistic pressure makes it usable.

04

Targeted feedback makes it more precise.

My signature program

Best for A2–B2 learners

French Speaking Reset

Eight weeks with me to rebuild the way you access French in real conversation—not another pile of lessons to complete.

  • 8 one-to-one sessions, 45 or 60 minutes
  • A starting diagnostic built around your real life
  • Simulations, repetition and feedback you can reuse
  • Up to two 30-minute voice-support sessions per week
  • A clear progress review and continuation plan

The coaching method

How knowledge becomes usable speech.

The work follows the moments where your French breaks down—not a generic textbook sequence.

  1. 01

    Diagnose the bottleneck

A baseline task shows what is slowing you down.

  2. 02

    Choose limited priorities

We focus on the language and reactions most useful to you.

  3. 03

    Practice under realistic conditions

You rehearse, react, repair and try again in guided simulations.

  4. 04

    Reuse feedback between sessions

    Corrections become short reactivation tasks.

  5. 05

    Measure the change

A final simulation is compared with your starting point.

Progress you can actually observe

Look for changes in what you can do.

A note from me

You do not need another faceless learning platform.

You need someone who listens to where you hesitate, tells you what matters and gives you another chance to try. That is the kind of teacher I aim to be.

I’ve taught French since 2014, and I still love the moment a learner surprises themselves.

I work with adults preparing for conversations that matter: at work, after a move, during an exam or simply in everyday life.

FAQ

Questions before you start

Is this for complete beginners?

French Speaking Reset is designed for adults from a solid A2 level to B2. If you are a complete beginner, I’ll be honest: my current programs are probably not the right starting point.

Are sessions entirely in French?

No. Practice happens in French, but English can be used for a concise explanation when it saves time or prevents confusion. The balance changes with your level.

Where are lessons available?

Lessons are online and available internationally. Time-zone compatibility is confirmed individually before enrolment.

Will eight weeks make me fluent?

No responsible program can guarantee complete fluency in eight weeks. The aim is a measurable improvement in retrieval, spontaneity, structure and confidence in situations that matter to you.

How much practice is expected between sessions?

French Speaking Reset uses short, focused practice rather than large homework packs. I adapt the plan after the diagnostic, but regular practice between sessions is part of the program.

How do I know which program fits?

Start with the free Fluency Check. It gives you a likely speaking profile and suggests the most relevant next step. You can then request a paid diagnostic if you want individual feedback.
